Whether you’re heading there for a sneaky city getaway this summer, or you need some more convincing to book those plane tickets, we’re showing you our three favourite spots to eat, shop and chill out in the city of canals and pancakes: Amsterdam.

A charming, bright healthy cafe in the centre of the Canal Ring; we stumbled in looking for a lunch spot and discovered hot pink smoked salmon (!!) and possibly the best fresh juice we’ve ever tried. Among the healthiness, there is cake and an opportunity to hoard some very cute interior pieces. Short and sweet? We dig this.

Reestraat 19, 1016 DM Amsterdam, Netherlands

Recommended to us by more than a few people, we decided we really needed to check out this concept store in the up and coming area of De Pijp (loved by locals largely because tourists are yet to discover it). Filled with witty cards, delicate jewellery and a stellar collection of scandinavian brands, we completely understood the hype.

Gerard Doustraat 94, 1072 VX Amsterdam, Netherlands

Ok, technically another food-spot but this 3 story converted old cinema is exactly the kind of space we could see ourselves spending hours hanging out in. Whether you’re working on a pitch, writing an essay or looking to catch up with a group of friends on some bean-bags, this is the spot. Perfectly cosy with a killer coffee. P.S. Pancakes to die for, if you weren’t already swayed.

I visited Amsterdam last year and tried a few cafes and restaurants. I can recommend Mothers- pictures of….mums on every single wall! Plus delicious food!
