Silk pajamas, sherry and an expresso machine…what more could a young woman want?
Being a student, it’s not often that one gets to stay in a king size bed and drink sherry out of a really tiny (and thus elegant) wine glass. The Berkeley Suites in Bristol asked if I wanted to have a night of luxury beyond adding cheese to my baked beans dinner, and I just couldn’t say no. I even brought my best pajamas, because Harry’s old t-shirt just didn’t quite seem to make the cut.
Besides being beautifully decorated (velvet, hardwood and marble as far as the eye could see), the suites are like a little apartment – complete with a cupboard that is actually a tiny kitchen. Coolest thing…ever? Harry and I arrived in the afternoon and immediately climbed into pajamas and made ourselves a cup of tea, and popped a movie on. Whilst that sounds a lot like what we do all the time, this time we weren’t squinting at a laptop screen because all the suites have a projector to watch TV, movies and video art on.
The suites are part of The Berkeley Square Hotel, and are perfect for even a little staycation (as proved by featured photos of me lounging around the place). You get free access to the Nuffield health centre across the road, and access to an exclusive members bar and The Square Kitchen too. Headed to Bristol soon? No? Well come anyway just so you can coat yourselves in hotel moisturiser and espresso from the coffee machines. Just picture that. Luxury at it’s finest.

My stay at the Berkeley Suites was complimentary, but all opinions are my own (and Harry’s, because he loved it too). Find more information on their website here, and check out the rest of The Quarter here.
