I’ll be straight with you – Akemi and I shot these back in June on possibly the warmest day of the year. These outfits are not the kind of thing I’d wear in September, when the weather is starting to turn and the evenings feel almost arctic already. That being said, there’s no shame in looking back on what we had, summer and I. This Topshop dress is exactly my kind of floral; I’ve never been overtly girlish, so sometimes I struggle when summer hits. The clothes seem to take a turn for the feminine as the temperature starts to rise. Pretty floral dresses, skinny little sandals and pink as far as the eye can see is not really my vibe; but this floral has a slightly darker edge to it, both literally (duh) and figuratively. And, now autumn is back I can finally slip into something more comfortable…my fluffy bathrobe and under the floor heating.

Just as I get excited about autumn arriving, and the chance to snuggle into jumpers and boots, I’m heading off to California for two weeks. My mum and I are doing a mini road trip from Palm Springs up to San Fransisco and I could (but will not) pee myself with excitement. I haven’t been to the west coast in a really long time and I’m excited to soak up a last bit of sun before winter really settles in.

Anyone who has any tips for Palm Springs, LA, San Fransisco, Carmel or Santa Barbara please drop me a line – I’m determined as ever before I leave to have a full map of all the places I need to stuff myself with good food. Also, you know, some shops as well. But mainly just food; food is the priority.
